White Chalk Paint

Decorative Napkin

Mod Podge

Jute Rope or Ribbon for Accent

Prepping Your Jar to Paint

You are going to start with a clean mason jar. This includes taking and stickers/labels off, cleaning it and then wiping it down with rubbing alcohol. This always gets a glass surface cleanest and ready to paint!

Paint one coat with the white chalk paint.

Dry and then paint it with one good coat of Mod Podge and get your napkin ready…..

Make sure your napkin is the length of your jar. I would suggest getting a larger napkin and trimming it to fit the length. You will do this part before you do any painting.

When I decoupage with napkins you will always want to split it apart. It may be tricky but as long as you find separation at the corner and slooooowly tear it in apart you will be able to save the decorative side. Dony throw away the bottom white (or whatever color the plain part is) because you will use this!

Take the decorative part and start laying it carefully over the side of the jar.

Work your way around carefully pressing down. Do not swipe because you can tear the napkin.

This is wear your second part of the napkin (not the decorative part) comes in. Your fingers will be sticky with the Mod Podge so you will want to use that other napkin piece to gently press the decorative napkin all over the jar and up around the grooves of the top neck of the jar.

Let it dry or put it in front of a heater to make it dry faster.

You will do one more coat of Mod Podge. Still being careful not to swipe to hard with the Mod Podge because it can tear.

Paint the Mod Podge all over the decorative dried napkin, top and bottom.
Paint it all the way up to the neck of the jar.
Add a decorative ribbon to match or jute rope to finish it!

These are so simple and turn out so beautiful!
