Inflatable mannequin

30 Pk of Gauze Rolls

Spray bottle

Black Coffee or Tea

Stake

Step 1

The inflatable mannequin came in 2 so you can make 2 if you want! First blow your mummy up with a pump. You can find the link to the mannequin here.

Step 2

Cut open all your gauze rolls. You will use all 30. You may want to take the plastic off all of them so you don’t have to break stride while you are wrapping the mummy. You will use all 30 packs plus some more!

It even comes with these little tape rolls

Step 3

You will start wrapping your mummy. I started with an arm but there is no rule on where to start.

I taped the end of each roll to make each wrap more secure to the inflatable doll.

I wrapped the body and….

worked my way down the legs. I wrapped the two legs together, so it was more “mummy” like.

Step 4

Once the body was wrapped, I crossed the arms and used more gauze to hold the crossed arms in place.

This was easy to fold and held together well.

Step 5

I used an old spray bottle and left-over black coffee and filled it in my spray bottle. I sprayed the entire mummy to give it that old vintage look.

If there were any little coffee droplets, I just rubbed them out with a rag. This blended well.

Step 6

I wanted my mummy to stand up in the ground so I put a stake up in between the cloth then the legs to help support it. I also stuck it by some trees because I wanted it to be protected from the wind.

If you do not want to use the stake you can put it in a pot with some rocks and you can use it on a front porch or indoors.

Step 7

The last and final step is to find a home for your mummy! I put him out in my yard and accented it with a black spooky tree and some lanterns.

And he is ready for all my trick or treaters!

The whole time I was doing this project I wanted to make a cardboard coffin for the mummy to lay in. It would even be neat to hook some lights up to it and some creepy music. The ideas for this mummy are endless!

Creating a life size mummy DIY project may seem daunting at first, but with the right tools, materials, and patience, it can be a fun and rewarding experience. So go ahead, grab your bandages and start creating your own piece for Halloween. Who knows, it may just become a conversation starter at your next Halloween party. And let’s not forget, the best part of a DIY project is sharing it with others and inspiring them to take on their own creative endeavor. So, let’s keep the conversation going and share our mummy masterpieces with the world. Happy wrapping!
