This year, instead of spending money on mass-produced and unsustainable decorations, why not try creating something unique? Painting the Frame
You can find an old frame you have laying around or pick up one from the thrift store, rummage sale or flea market. I had one on hand that I used as a bulletin board where the frame was really cool and interesting for this project. I took the backing off and save the back to trace the same size for the black cardboard. I painted mine all over with black chalk paint. You can find the link to black chalk paint here. I love this brand because it is thick and one coat does the job!

Step 2:
If you have a picture frame you can take the back off and trace it onto your black cardboard. This will allow your background to be black for this project and have the perfect fit when being placed back into your frame when it is complete.

Step 3
Trace out black poster board. Make sure you have a protective surface in the back so your box cutter doesn’t go through the table or surface underneath when you go to cut it…or you can use scissors.

Step 4:
Gather your skeleton face and hands and glue gun.

Get all your pieces in place before gluing them. For the skeleton I smashed the back of the head to make it flat so it would stick better and more flush to the back.

Step 5:
I used 2 packs of ghost battery lights. These were from Dollar Tree. I placed them on the black cardboard how I wanted them and glued each ghost in place.

Step 6:
Using a pack of cobwebs from Dollar Tree I spread it out over the skeleton hands and face. You want to cover the whole cardboard making sure it is tight enough so the skeleton looks like he is protruding out of the cobwebs.

Step 7:
Place the frame over the cardboard making sure to cover all the ends of the cobwebs so it holds it all in place. You may have to cut off any excess cob webs in the back of the frame.

Step 8
Add the spiders. I used the small black spiders that came with the cobwebs and also added 2 larger spiders that came individually in packs from Dollar Tree. Once black and one brown for variety.

Step 9
I used this super fun skeleton sign from Dollar Tree but reconstructed it. I took of the top part of the skeleton head. It just pulls right of the ribbon on the back. I was worried about the size and weight of the whole sign hanging on my frame, so I kept just the wording on the sign and the items below.

You may want to take a little drop pf glue to help secure your sign in placed on the hand.

And look how cute it is lit up at night!

it is just as unique and spooky as I wanted so I am so happy with the turn out!
Halloween is a time for creativity and self-expression, and what better way to showcase that than through a DIY skeleton picture frame? By following these steps and using your imagination, you can create a unique and spooky decoration that is sure to impress.
