how to make glitter pumpkins

Are you looking for decorating ideas for Halloween that’ll last all the way through till Thanksgiving? This is my favorite one yet and has been for 10+ years! It is a simple to do as it is beautiful, and I get compliments on them every time so I decided to redo a simple video for you that you can see at the end of the post!

Supplies:

Poster Board

Pumpkin

Glitter

Modge Podge

Paint Brush

First and foremost grab any color of posterboard and this will be your base to catch all the glitter and any excess glue to protect the surface you are working on.

You are going to clean your pumpkin with rubbing alcohol. This will dry quick so you’ll be ready for the next step which is the Modge Podge.
Wipe all around the pumpkin from the top of where the stem starts to the bottom.
Next grab your Modge Podge and your paint brush and a disposable bowl or plate.

Pour a little Modge Podge into the bowl so you can dip. You are going to paint half the pumpkin from the top of the orange part by the stem all the way to the bottom of the pumpkin.
Start by pouring the glitter on the top of the stem so the glitter will naturally fall down towards the bottom of the pumpkin.
Pour the glitter all over the Modge Podge. Don’t worry about all the excess glitter because you will save all the extra and put it back in your glitter container.
Once all of Modge Podge is covered with glitter you are finished. You can let it dry and then move it and it’s permanent home after about an hour.

One bonus from these gorgeous glitter pumpkins are the fact that they are not carved so they will hold up well – AND you can leave them out for two seasons – Halloween all the way through Thanksgiving!!

You can check out the quick video I put together for you here!

I hope you love this as much as I love creating it! Happy Halloween!!
