SUPPLIES

Fitness Ball

Newspaper or packing paper

1 regular size bag of Flour

Hot Water to mix with flour

Small Pool Noodle (Dollar tree)

Black Spray Paint

Dollar Tree Plastic Skulls and Bones

Black Thick Poster Board

Dollar Tree Large Wire Wreath

TOOLS

Glue Gun

Sander

Scissors

Marker

Step 1:

Blow up Ball and find a bucket garbage can or some base to use to be hold the ball in place while you work on it. You can find the call I used here.

Step 2: Mix flour and water in a larger container, or bucket- This mix should be as thick as paint. Not as thin as milk or you won’t get that stickiness to make it harden.

Step 3: I first started by dipping sheets of paper in the flour and water mixture. I coated 1 full layer all over the ball leaving one bad side down. This will be the opening, so I didn’t take the extra time to cover it since it was going to be cut open anyway, however I worked all the way down to make sure there was enough strength of the paper all over the ball. REPEAT 2-3 times to get a hard enough layer that when you push down on it won’t collapse.

I let this dry for a few days before I started sanding and painting. Tip: I am in the Midwest so I didn’t leave it outside overnight because the moisture in the air softens the paper on the ball and delayed the drying process so I brought it in the garage at night.

Step 4: Let it dry completley

Step 5: Gently sand rough edges.

Step 6: Spray the entire ball. You may need 2 coats. Let it dry.

Set your ball down because we are going to get ready for Step 7.

Step 7: Draw a big circle out for the opening of the top. If you have a pot of flowers or other items that you have in mind to fill the cauldron then you might want to size that top circle accordingly. I measured mine out large enough for my orange mums.

Step 8: Pop the ball and take it out. You should be left with this beautiful hard shell.

You might need to level out your top circle to make sure it is pretty flush before you put your pool noddle on. I had a little trimming up to do.
Step 9: I got a couple pool noodles from Dollar Tree and sliced them down the middle from one end to the next. You will separate the noodle and cover the edge of the cauldron – I used one full one and half of the other noodle.
I taped up the 2 seams from cutting the noodle and then spray painted the noodle so it was all black.

Step 10: Gather one black thick poster board (found at Hobby Lobby) one metal wreath and some plastic bones, skulls and skeletons from dollar tree. I used the wreath and glued it down in the middle of my black board.

Then I arranged all the plastic bones and skulls, arranged them so it would support the cauldron and glued them down with a glue gun the best I could.

Spray painted them all black…

Step 11: This is the fun part. You have to decide how you are going to fill the cauldron. I wanted to tone down the spookiness of the black witch and black cauldron and bones and make it kind of pretty during the day so I thought what a perfect way to make it pretty and still look like hot fire!

It just adds so much brightness to the cauldron. I love the look of the 3 witches found here and the little bright orange touch!

Then I got these really cool orange lights that have a remote control that turns it off and on and switched it to different modes. You can find them here.
You will need double A batteries for them. Again you can use my link here.
