New Year’s Eve Craft Ideas

Countdown Clock Balloons

Materials Needed:

  • Black balloons
  • White and gold paper
  • Glue
  • Marker
  • Helium or balloon pump

How to:

  • Cut out clock numbers from the white paper and clock hands from the gold paper.
  • Glue the numbers around the balloon to create a countdown effect.
  • Attach the clock hands to the center of the balloon using glue.
  • Inflate the balloons with helium or a balloon pump.
  • Scatter these countdown clock balloons around the party space for a festive touch

Resolution Jars

Materials Needed:

  • Mason jars
  • Colored paper
  • Pens/markers
  • Ribbon or twine

How to:

  • Cut the colored paper into strips.
  • Encourage guests to write their New Year’s resolutions or wishes on the strips.
  • Roll the strips and place them inside the Mason jars.
  • Tie a ribbon or twine around the top of each jar for a decorative touch.
  • At midnight, take turns reading and sharing resolutions for a positive start to the year.

Confetti Poppers

Materials Needed:

  • Toilet paper rolls
  • Tissue paper in various colors
  • Glue
  • Rubber bands
  • Confetti

How to:

  • Cut the tissue paper into squares and set aside.
  • Cover one end of the toilet paper roll with a square of tissue paper and secure it with a rubber band.
  • Fill the roll with confetti.
  • Cover the other end of the roll with another square of tissue paper and secure it with a rubber band.
  • When the clock strikes midnight, give these DIY confetti poppers a twist to release the joyous celebration!

New Year’s Wishing Tree

Materials Needed:

  • Small tree branches or twigs
  • Vase or pot
  • Paper tags
  • Pens/markers
  • String or ribbon

How to:

  • Place the branches or twigs in a vase or pot to create a tree-like structure.
  • Attach paper tags to the branches using string or ribbon.
  • Encourage guests to write their wishes or goals for the new year on the tags.
  • Hang the completed tags on the tree throughout the night.
  • Admire the collective hopes and dreams as your New Year’s Wishing Tree blossoms with positivity!

Materials Needed:

  • Large balloon
  • Newspaper strips
  • Papier-mâché glue
  • Silver or mirrored mosaic tiles
  • String or ribbon
  • Small treats or goodies

How to:

  • Inflate the balloon and cover it with papier-mâché using newspaper strips and glue.
  • Once dry, attach silver or mirrored mosaic tiles to create a dazzling disco ball effect.
  • Fill the piñata with small treats or goodies.
  • Hang it up and let the countdown festivities begin as guests eagerly await the midnight disco ball drop!
