Burlap Carrot Flag Banner DIY

I am feeling Spring and Easter and all the sunny days ahead – Are you with me? With consistent days of sun I am getting SO excited for Spring and am crafting away already.

I was out and about and of course stopped into Dollar Tree and I saw these plain burlap triangle flags and thought……Carrots! – For sure!

Come along with me and check out a cute craft, and affordable and adorable way to decorate your home for spring and Easter!

Supplies

Dollar Tree Burlap Flag Banner

Orange Acrylic paint

Brown Acrylic paint

Greenery for stems

Paint brushes

The first step is to grab your flags and your orange paint.
Put a little orange in the tray – I actually refilled this about 3-4 times because the burlap cloth seemed to suck up a lot of paint! Make sure you have a piece of paper or poster board behind the flag to protect whatever surface you are working on.

After I painted one flag orange I took my smaller brush and dipped it in the brown paint to make the detailed lines of the carrots. This is pretty simple to do and doesn’t matter if they are not straight.

Repeat the steps with all the flags until you have the whole banner finished.
Once the orange paint is dry on all flags turn it over and get your glue gun hot and ready. I used some left-over greenery that I had laying around the carrot stems, but you can buy this greenery pretty inexpensive at any store that carries craft items. This is more of a eucalyptus type, but any grassy greenery will even do.

Next put some glue on the back of your flag and stick the stem of the greenery on the back and wait for it to dry. Move to the next….

And repeat until all the carrots have stems.

I’m so happy the way this turned out.

I decided I would hang it across the front of my entry way table and decorate it will my other easter decor.

This would be adorable on a mantle on the fireplace decorated with some other Spring decor!

Now get yourself out to Dollar Tree to grab some flags before they are gone!

Happy Spring!
