This fall, add a touch of rustic charm to your home with a DIY photo frame. Picture frames are a great way to show off your favorite memories and to spruce up any room in your home. Whether you have crafty skills or are a novice, this guide will help you create a beautiful fall-themed picture frame without breaking the bank.
Gather Your Materials
1 Tile from Dollar Tree (In Kitchen Section)
1 Wood Leaf Dollar tree
Fall Color of Paint – Acrylic
Brown Acrylic Paint or Antiquing Paint
1 Picture for frame
Scissors
Mod Podge
Hot Glue Gun
Paint Brush
Fall Ribbon
Cream Ribbon
Letter Stamps (optional)
Choose Your Photo
I picked a family photo that I used for our Christmas card and chose my paint color around the pictures and chose what paint matched best!!

Building the Frame
Step 1: I Started by tracing my wooden leaf onto the back of the tile paper.
Step 2: Cut out Leaf
Step 3: Paint with 1 or 2 coats on the front of the tile leaf. Let fully dry.
Step 4: Paint one light coat of brown antiquing paint
Step 5: While wet wipe off the surface with a damp cloth. Do not wipe around the edges of the design as this will give your tile the antique look. (see video)
Step 6: Trace out a square, rectangle or circle that is going to fit your picture but small enough to fit the center of the leaf.
Where to place your frame
You can hang your frame from twine on a interior door or wall….

or set it as part of the centerpiece of your Thanksgiving table. This is where my frame has currently found its home.

I also love the look of hanging it from above. Check it out here:
