Materials Needed

Red Velvet Ribbon

4 Dollar tree Frames

1 Heart Scrapbook Paper

Love Letter L, O, V & E

Black Chalk Paint

White Chalk Paint

Glue Gun

Paint Brushes

Love Bird (optional)

1st Step – Black Chalk Paint

You will grab your 4 letters and put them on a piece of paper or something to protect your surface. With a thicker paint brush (about 1 inch) thick you will paint the front and all sides of each letter.

Let them completley dry for an hour.

2nd Step – White Chalk Paint Accent

You will get a clean dry brush and lightly brush the edges and all over the black letters. This will give your letters and aged look.

3rd Step – Disassembling the Frames

Take the backing and glass off each frame leaving only the frame. Save at least one of the pieces of glass to trace the scrap book paper.

4th Step – Scrapbook Paper

Trace four squares from the glass. You will use this as your background now for the frame.

Cut out the 4 squares for frames.

Set the heart scrapbook paper front side out and make sure the hearts are right side up for all four frames. Place the backing on secure the clips to hold the back in place.

They should all be straight and hearts going right side up.

5th Step – The Letters

With a glue gun glue the back of each letter and place it in the center of the frame. If you want to use a ruler to measure it out exactly you can but I just eye balled it. repeat for each letter.

6th Step – Laying Out Your Frames

Grab your red velvet ribbon and lay out about 50″. Make sure you leave enough room at the top for hanging.

I left about 10″ at the top and started with the “L” moving my frames down so everything was hanging in a straight line. My frames were about 3″ apart.

Once you have them laid the frames out exactly how you want them on the ribbon grab your glue gun and start gluing them in place. I glued all out protruding parts of the back of the frame that would stick to the ribbon.

7th Step – You Are Ready to Hang it

Once you have all your letters in place you can take another piece of the ribbon and tie it to the top of the ribbon and shape it into a bow. You can use a hanging strip to hang the back of the bow on the hook like I did. There are a few different ways to hang it so if you may find another option.

This is so unique and nothing you have ever seen before at a store – At least I have not!

So get out to JoAnn Fabrics or Hobby Lobby and get some Christmas velvet ribbon at a fraction of the price so you can make your own LOVE sign.
