Supplies

Vintage music sheet

Modge Podge

Cinnamon

Acrylic paint (Real Brown, Thicket, Citrus Green, Cardinal Red, Black, Coffee Latte)

Start with your music sheet. In this particular craft I used a smaller music sheet that was a 4 x 6.
Modge Podge the canvas board.
And back of the music sheet
Carefully lay the music sheet onto the glued side of the canvas board.
Then paint another coat of Modge Podge over the top of the music sheet. I like to get a lot of coats on because you can push out the excess easily, but you cannot go back if you do not have enough, and it won’t lay as nice on your surface.
I smoothed out the top of the music sheet. By using my fingers, I can push out an excess.
While your glue is still wet sprinkle a little cinnamon on the edges of the board.
You just want enough to make it look like rust. Then once your cinnamon is sprinkled I put another coat of the Modge Podge on.
Once the Modge Podge is dry I got my brown acrylic paint out and started painting my cross. I used the color Real Brown which is a Folk Art paint.
If you want to draw it out first you can. Then I used a little white in the middle of the cross to give it a little dimension.
I got my green Folk Art Thicket paint and paint a circle for the base of the wreath.
Then I grabbed a little of my Citrus Green Folk Art paint and a mix of the thicket colored paint and painted leaves. (You can view here to see how I painted the leaves.)
I worked my way around the wreath painting leaves on either side of the wreath until I was fully around.
Then I painted a basic bow in the color Cardinal Red – This is also a Folk Art paint.
I always come back and do my final touch ups. Here I took some black and outlined the edges of the cross to give it a bit more depth.

I wanted a little Christmas verse to add to this so I found a special Christmas verse and printed it on Word in a vintage style print. I printed it small enough so it would fit on the corner of the art. I Modge Podged this on and while the Modge Podge was still wet I sprinkled some more Cinnamon on it so it would blend it all together.

Then I Modged Podged over that.

And it is finished!

You can give it as a gift or display it just like this. You can also set it off nicely in a frame.

I hope I taught you something new and you can try this.
